I'd read and heard so much about this product - all raves - that I just had to try it.
But first, I had to find it. I searched high and low, in every Duane Reade I passed in Manhattan, and couldn't find it. They all seemed to stock the Luminous Color Glaze Clear Shine, which does not impart any color "re-awakening" as the Luminous Color Glaze does, but I wanted the real deal. I may have gotten a bargain on my new hair color, but I was willing to spend $9.99 to keep it fresh.
Of course, I found the brunette version of Luminous Color Glaze at the CVS right around the corner from my apartment.
I've only used this once, today, and it's supposed to take three uses before a difference is apparent. You're also supposed to use it every time you wash your hair - a minimum of three times per week. (No sweat for me; while I usually try to go every other day between washes immediately following a color treatment, usually I have to shampoo daily or I just feel unclean.)
So, I'll let you know how it works out. In the meantime, what are you doing with your hair for summer - lighter, darker, highlights, shorter, or the ponytail thing? While I like my new haircut, I've been seriously considering getting it chopped down to about three inches of messy tufts. But I don't think my physical features are delicate enough to carry it off. What are your summer haircut plans and fantasies?

I've tried that colour glaze and I don't think I noticed a huge difference!
I'm not doing anything exciting to my hair - same old style, although I've had my colourist tweak the colour a bit (semi-permanent gloss). My hair has a fair bit of red in it naturally and the shade of brown she was using on it was had red undertones, so for the past two visits I've made her change it to a brown with more golden undertones, to calm the red down a bit. It's worked well, and I seem to have ended up with some areas that almost look like natural highlights. Bonus!

You can get this stuff for cheaper at the close out store Big Lots. Seems despite rave reviews it doesn't sell that well.
I haven't change my hair in years. I'm completely incapable of styling myself. I've asked for people to teach me but they either roll their eyes or in one rude person's response "Go shave your head." (And I should point out she's a hair care professional whom works with a gentleman who blogs about haircare over on another site! Talk about unprofessional behavior.) If I need it done for special occasions my mom, who used to do hair for a living, does it for me. I can't get her to teach me either.
So every single day it's wash and wear. I topsy tail it and that's all. By the time it's dry it's a ratty mess. But I'm utterly helpless.
I'd like to try a new style, if I could style my hair. I'd love to get that feathered 70s look going. However I believe that requires knowledge on how to properly style with a hair dryer. And every time I use a hair dryer I look like an extra from The Lion King. Just part of ol' Simba's pride.
I saw this thing called Camp Beauty, but they ONLY teach teenage girls. Nevermind those of us adult women whom don't know how to do these things and also have self esteem issues.

I have tried color glaze in the past and to be honest I found it to be a good product, never had a problem with it.

I'm a brunette too. Whenever my mother comes up to visit, it is a must that she help me with this product. I've really been pleased with how it looks with my especially dark hair.
It's funny you mention Summer Hair at the end of your blog, I just got mine "did" this morning from my guy here in Athens, Ga. No color today, just a nice summer trim. What is it about newly styled/cut hair that just makes your day?

JennySue, what kind of help do you need? It can be a bit messy, so I'm just extra careful and wash my hands with exfoliating scrub as soon as I've worked it through my hair.

I just got a neat cut with more layers about 2 weeks ago---and it looked great for about 8 hours. The summer humidity, heat, and my laziness add up to "grow and put in a ponytail"--- I'll try to style with care in the fall. (What a lie...I'll find a reason to be style-lazy then, too...)

I like the color glaze, it fades quicker in the summer though. I'm still not completely sold on the "glaze" trend, but the Frieda one is the best around.

I just tried the color glaze for the first time and I the biggest difference I noticed was texture. I really like it. I have very fine hair that just gets fuzzy and frizzy when I dry it and the glaze tamed it way down. When I got done drying it almost looked like it had been flat ironed! So far so good!
